What is PEMF/Equine Massage

What is PEMF?

MagnaWave Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) is a non-invasive  technology that generates gentle electromagnetic pulses to penetrate  every cell, tissue, and organ, traveling to the bone to rejuvenate the  body’s natural balance. Through this process, PEMF increases blood  oxygen levels and stimulates cellular metabolism, which offers  remarkable potential to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and other  various health conditions without harsh side effects found elsewhere.

Generation of the Pulsed  Electromagnetic Fields:

A MagnaWave PEMF machine produces electromagnetic fields by pulsing a current through an  attachment or coil. This creates the magnetic fields which vary in  frequency, and intensity depending on the settings of the machine and  the attached coil.

Application to the Body:

The  user positions the coil or other attachment (like a mat, or paddle),  near or directly on the part of the body requiring a session. The  generated electromagnetic fields then penetrate the body, stimulating  cellular metabolism. MagnaWave sessions can range from 5-30 minutes.

Cellular Stimulations:

Once  the electromagnetic fields penetrate the body, they induce tiny  electrical currents in the cells. This can stimulate the cells,  promoting improved cellular function and health. It can increase ATP  production (cellular energy), improve oxygenation, and help cells to  detoxify and absorb nutrients more effectively.

Benefits:

As  a result of the improved cellular function, users may experience  various benefits. This can include pain relief, reduced inflammation,  improved circulation, faster recovery, increased bone density, and  enhanced overall wellness.

What is Equine Massage

In a Equine Massage session, I use a variety of massage techniques/modalities including therapeutic massage techniques, Myofascial Release, Flowtrition, Myoskeletal Alignment, Body Patterning, Masterson Method, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Gua Sha and other modalities. Some benefits include stimulating blood flow, promoting endorphin release, improving mental wellbeing, reducing scar tissue formation and increasing range of motion and flexibility.

This is a non-invasive, hands on therapy. I customize each massage to each individual  horse, but at the same time massaging the whole body from head to hoof.

   * Disclaimer. Massage  is not a substitute for veterinary care. I work closely with you, your vet, chiropractor, and farrier to benefit the whole horse.

Benefits

There are many physical and psychological benefits to equine massage therapy. These include:

  • Draining & Stimulating the Lymphatic system, removing toxins from the horse’s body

Why Would Your Horse Need a Massage?

If your horse is having these issues, he is trying to tell you he needs one sooner rather than later!

  1. –Bucking
  2. –Refusing to pick up the correct lead
  3. –Head tossing
  4. –Difficulty with lateral movements
  5. –Girthing problems / Cold Backed
  6. –Attitude changes
  7. –”Off” for no apparent reason …to name a few.
  8. Flinching or stepping away while grooming
  9. Constantly fidgeting in the cross ties

All horses can benefit from a massage, from older horses that are not being used, to top performance horses at any level.
